Your Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF)<\/strong> balance grows every month with contributions from you and your employer. Here are four easy ways to check it.<\/p>\n

Before you start<\/h2>\n

  • Keep your UAN<\/strong> (Universal Account Number) handy. You will find it on your salary slip or can ask your employer.<\/li>\n
  • Your UAN should be activated, and your Aadhaar, PAN and bank account should be linked (KYC) for the SMS and missed-call options.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    1. Missed call<\/h2>\n

    Give a missed call to 9966044425<\/strong> from your mobile number registered with EPFO. The call disconnects automatically and you receive an SMS with your last contribution and balance. It is free.<\/p>\n

    2. SMS<\/h2>\n

    Send EPFOHO UAN ENG<\/strong> to 7738299899<\/strong> from your registered mobile. Replace ENG with HIN for Hindi or another language code for other languages.<\/p>\n

    3. EPFO member passbook portal<\/h2>\n

    1. Visit the EPFO member passbook website (passbook.epfindia.gov.in).<\/li>\n
    2. Log in with your UAN, password and captcha.<\/li>\n
    3. Select your member ID to view and download the passbook.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      4. UMANG app<\/h2>\n

      1. Download the UMANG app and register with your mobile number.<\/li>\n
      2. Search for EPFO<\/strong> and select “View Passbook”.<\/li>\n
      3. Enter your UAN and the OTP sent to your registered mobile.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Balance not updated?<\/h2>\n

        • Employers deposit contributions monthly, but the passbook can take a few days to update.<\/li>\n
        • Interest for the year is usually credited after the government notifies the rate.<\/li>\n
        • If contributions are missing for several months, contact your employer’s HR or raise a grievance on the EPFiGMS portal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
